At the BCC Geospatial Center of the CUNY CREST Institute [BGCCCI] we train students like Fawzeeyah to learn about images and analyze them. From understanding image bands to their resolution, Interns at BGCCCI learn all important concepts and more. They learn to compute spatial and spectral attributes, develop algorithms for extracting terrestrial features from multi-resolution satellite datasets that were awarded to BGCCCI by grants from GeoEye. These workforce skills are critical in machine learning and knowledge discovery in a remotely sensed data life cycle. We celebrate diversity and encourage students from all backgrounds and culture. The only criteria to Intern with us to have loads of curiosity and an never-ending passion for geospatial technology.
