The Spring NASA-EONS Geospatial Workshops on Feature Extraction techniques came to a close with presentations by each participant. The presentations ranged on a wide array of topics on multi-resolution satellite imagery classification techniques and feature extraction techniques. Participants applied spectral and spatial attributes to extract specific environmental and planning variables from IKONOS [Digital Globe] and Blackbridge multi-resolution datasets. They used industry standard software and learnt key concepts in feature extraction. Most importantly they realized the potential of geospatial data for solving real-world problems and the need for diving more into deep learning automated algorithms and cloud based solutions. Some even signed up for the 10 week research Internships!!
