The 5th BGCCCI Annual Advisory Board met on the 15th May, 2019. Out of the Box Internships, Certificate programs, field and geospatial project experiences for students and career pathways were discussed. The industry consortium has been working with the BCC Geospatial Center for the past 5 years. This has resulted in creating a unique ecosystem in the New York City region where novel methods to create exciting career pathways in geospatial technology gets the highest priority. In collaboration with the Industry we have already created successful pathways for skilled technicians through informal training sessions, paid opportunities, summer workforce internships and professional development programs for educators. These activities have not only provided exposure to students and faculty alike but have given them valuable workforce skills and networking opportunities.
