DISCUSSING ABOUT THE 4TH REVOLUTION - BIG DATA ANALYTICS

Was a pleasure to contribute to a GIS round table with my two cents worth and interact with federal experts from NYC and academics and students at Hunter College. Discussions centered around important topic of industry trends and skills. The role of geospatial analytics cannot be underestimated because every attempt to analyze BIG data [which is invariably geospatial] is an opportunity to use the wide spectrum of geospatial skills ranging from spectral, to object based to a combination of both for data mining. For geography students and practitioners this is the best time to dig deep into spatial analytics and geographic analyses more than ever before. We also got a flavor of new census tools from a panelist. Absolutely wonderful to share the panel with Lynn, Amanda, Noemi and Jin Wen! Thanks to Marianna, Jochen and wonderful adminstrative staff [Mimoza, Martha and brilliant Amy] at Hunter-Geography
